C. Edward Hupton has earned a stellar reputation as an imaginative and versatile performer. Attracted to many styles of music, his projects have taken him into the realms of jazz, classical, popular, folk and world music, sacred music, musical theatre, cabaret and silent film, resulting in a career as a soloist, choir director, faculty member & teacher, accompanist, musical director and composer.

His compositions, recorded on ACCENT, MMC, ERM Media and INNOVA have been broadcast in 36 countries with virtually every style and genre represented. An extensive career in the entertainment field has included performances in numerous resorts throughout the country and appearances with many dance bands and orchestras.

In addition to a wide repertoire of classical music with specialties that include Debussy, Beethoven, Chopin & Spanish composers, his concerts include "A Tribute to George Gershwin", "Songs From my Father's House"-a program of Latin American Music with soprano Elizabeth Acosta , "A Tribute to Duke Ellington" and "It Seems I've Never Heard That Song Before"- with vocalist Veronica Schoenewolf .
He continues to explore the world of Tango as a performer and composer, while one of several performances in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall included a recital of "Harlem Stride and Classic Ragtime" which is also available for school assemblies.

Recent commissions include "Circles", a five-song set with text by Alan Ziegler commissioned by Erin Langston of NYC.

His recently completed Requiem for the Victims of Genocide (SATB) for chorus & orchestra is a multi-ethnic tribute to those who have suffered and died in the course of world-wide genocides. The premiere performance took place on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Patchogue United Methodist Church in Patchogue, (LI) NY., Elaine Kirkland conducting.


The NYC premiere took place on June 2, 2012 at St. Mary's Church, 145 W. 45th St, 1/2 block east of Times Square. Performance included The NY Virtuoso Singers, Orchestra Salome and the SilverCloud Native American Singers, Harold Rosenbaum conducting. Most recently, Mr. Hupton has been awarded a life-time Honorary Membership for Professional Achievement in Covington's Who's Who, publication scheduled in 2014.

In June, 2007 his carol "The Lost Soul of Christmas" was recorded by the 60-voice National Opera Choir in Prague, Czech Republic and available through ERM Media. "Canciones del Caribe" has been recorded by Elizabeth Acosta Crommet on Accent Records, and is available through this web site. Mr. Hupton's humor and expressive interpretations combine to create a unique concert experience.
